Preview Hub overview

Start, stop, and inspect live previews of every repository in your business from one place.

The Preview Hub is where you run your app before it goes live. Every repository in your business — web apps and APIs alike — gets its own isolated live preview that you can start, watch, test, and stop from a single screen.

What a preview is

A preview is a private, temporary deployment of one repository:

  • Web repositories boot the user interface. You get a URL that renders the real app, and a QR code to open it on your phone.
  • API repositories boot the backend. Evonx provisions an ephemeral Postgres database just for the preview, runs the database migrations, seeds example data, and then starts the API.

Previews are isolated from production: whatever you click, create, or delete in a preview never touches your published app or its data.

Start a preview

  1. Open your business and go to Preview.

  2. Find the repository you want to run and start its preview. You can run several repositories at once — for a typical project you'll start both the web app and its API.

  3. Watch the log stream: install, build, database preparation (for APIs), then boot. When the status turns ready, the preview URL becomes active.

While the preview is running

  • Open the app in the built-in frame or a new tab, and click through it like a real user.
  • Read the logs to see what the app is doing — every request and error shows up live. See Reading preview logs.
  • Test on your phone by scanning the QR code. See Test on your phone.
  • Annotate the screen to point the AI at the exact element you want changed. See Annotate the preview.
  • Reset the database of an API preview to return to clean seed data at any time.

When a preview fails

Failures happen — a migration that doesn't apply, a build error, a missing dependency. The Preview Hub shows the failure state with its logs, and offers Analyse & Fix: the AI reads the logs, explains the root cause in plain language, and can apply the fix for you.
