Game reskinA new look. The same game.
Ask for a new theme and Evonx reskins the game around it: new pieces, new menus, new words, even the mascot in the pop-ups. The rules, the levels and every number stay exactly as they were. Fruit Stand is the coffee-shop sort puzzle with a fruit theme on top, built as its own iOS app.
Level 16, the same 14 taps, one build: coffee look on the left, fruit look on the right. Drag to compare.
What a reskin touches
Everything you see. Nothing you play.
Changes
- 103D models: eight cup colours become a cherry, a blueberry, a lemon, a green apple, a tangerine, grapes, a peach and a coconut; the dispenser becomes a fruit crate, the box a fruit box
- 7pictures: the menu, the play background, the goal icon, the hero, the bag icon and both pop-up mascots
- 12words per language, in English and Turkish: "Cups left" becomes "Fruits left"
- 1name: the game is called Fruit Stand
Stays
- 50level files, byte for byte (content/levels/001–050.json)
- 1rule set and one codebase: both looks run from the same build
- 50solver proofs: every level is still winnable with the same moves
- 0lines of game code changed by the theme

The home screen: a coffee bar becomes a fruit stall.

Level 16: the same belt, the same baskets, 78 cups or 78 fruits left.

Even the pop-up mascot changes: a barista, a fruit seller.
Same moves, same result
Play one, you played both.
Recorded one after the other with the same 14 taps on level 16, the two looks fill the same baskets at the same moments and run out of slots on the same move. That is what a reskin means here: the game never changes a rule.
Any genre
One sentence, a whole new skin.
A match-3 set in a royal castle, then one more line in the chat. The board, the cascades and the striped-piece blast carry over; the pieces and the backdrop are new.
YouMake it candy-themed
How it works
A theme is a file, not a fork.
Name the new look
"Make it a fruit stall", "make it candy-themed". Evonx keeps the game and draws the new pieces, backgrounds and characters in that look.
One game theme file
A theme file maps each slot of the game (a piece, a background, a mascot, a word) to its new art. Fruit Stand's is content/themes/fruit.json, 3,826 bytes.
Same game, new store page
The levels and code stay shared, so a fix in one look is a fix in both. Fruit Stand went on to TestFlight as its own iOS app.
Questions
Game reskins, answered.
What is a game reskin?
A reskin is a new look on the same game: new art, new names, new words, with the rules and levels untouched. Fruit Stand changed 10 models, 7 pictures and 12 words per language; its 50 level files are byte-identical to the original.
Do the levels or the difficulty change?
No. The theme file can only swap art and words. Every level, every move count and every solver proof stays the same, so the reskin is exactly as hard as the original.
Can I reskin one of the game templates?
Yes. Every game template carries its own slots, so a reskin works the same way on a template as on a game you built: Fruit Stand is a reskin of the coffee sort-puzzle template.
Can one game carry several looks, like an app reskin for the stores?
Yes. Both looks on this page run from one build, and the theme picks which art goes into each slot. You can keep the original and the reskin side by side, or ship the reskin as its own app, as Fruit Stand did.
Does it work for 3D games?
Yes. Fruit Stand's pieces are 3D models: each fruit was drawn from three sides and rebuilt as a mesh, then dropped into the slot the coffee cup used.
