Warehouse and inventory software

Build inventory software that matches what is actually on the shelf.

When the count on the shelf and the count in the system disagree, both your availability and your margin are wrong. Describe your product structure, your warehouses, and how you count, and the application gets built around them.

Inventory capabilities

From the product record to the margin report

Inventory management is not a product list. Set up properly, it changes when you buy, what you promise a customer, and how confident you are in your margin.

Products and variants

Define colour, size, dimension, unit of measure, and pack factors according to your own product logic rather than a fixed template.

Multiple warehouses and bins

Separate main warehouse, branches, consignment stock, and bin locations, and see where every movement came from and went to.

Receipts, issues, and transfers

Record purchases, sales, returns, wastage, production consumption, and inter-warehouse transfers against a source document.

Barcodes, batches, and serials

Work at speed with barcodes and track batch, lot, serial, and expiry data where food, cosmetics, or technical goods require it.

Stock counts and variances

Run periodic or cycle counts, record variances with a reason code, and put adjustments behind an approval step.

Costing and profitability

Apply weighted average, last purchase price, or FIFO costing and see profitability by product, customer, and channel.

Setup path

Start inventory tracking on solid ground

01

Settle the product structure

Decide your units, variants, packs, and barcode rules first. Skip this step and count variances become permanent.

02

Load opening stock

Import opening quantities and costs per warehouse, then run a first count to align the system with reality.

03

Tie movements to documents

Anchor every receipt and issue to a document so the trail holds. Reorder alerts and reports are only trustworthy once it does.

Inventory by industry

One warehouse model does not fit every sector

Food runs on expiry dates, apparel on variant matrices, electronics on serial numbers, and e-commerce on stock split across channels. Building for that detail is what shrinks count variance and lost sales.

Build your inventory app
  • Multi-channel stock visibility for e-commerce and marketplaces
  • Batch, lot, and expiry tracking for food and cosmetics
  • Colour and size variant matrices for apparel
  • Raw material consumption and work-in-progress in production
  • Transfers and counts across multi-branch retail
  • Consignment and third-party warehouse stock

Frequently asked questions

Building inventory software with Evonx

What does inventory management software actually give me?+

It tells you which items are in which warehouse, in what quantity, and at what cost. Set up properly it warns you before an item drops below its reorder point, makes count variances visible, and lets you calculate margin on real cost rather than an estimate.

Does it work with barcode scanners?+

Yes. Barcodes can be attached to product records and the receipt, issue, and counting screens can be built for scanner input. For handheld terminals, a separate simplified screen usually works better than reusing the desktop one.

Which costing method is used?+

Weighted average, last purchase price, and FIFO are all options. Since the method directly affects your profitability reports and your books, it is worth agreeing the choice with your accountant before going live.

Can stock go negative?+

That is a rule you choose. Negative stock can be blocked outright, allowed with a warning, or permitted only for certain roles. The rule is set during setup and can be changed afterwards.

Can we import our existing stock list?+

Yes. Product records, barcodes, and opening quantities can be imported from a file. A first physical count after the import is what aligns the system with the shelf.
