Block fit is about the empty space you protect. Show the shapes before the player commits, and make a failed fit obvious. Hidden future shapes feel like a guess.

Questions

When does a block-fit round end?

When none of the current shapes fit, or when the level’s line goal is met if you asked for levels instead of an endless score.

Can pieces rotate?

Only if you ask. The default is to place the shape as it is shown, which keeps the decision on position.
