Meetings of Gemeente Veldmark take place in the chamber behind the town hall tower. They are open to everyone, streamed live and followed by minutes in plain language within three days.

What happens at a council meeting

The order is the same every time, which makes it easy to arrive for just the item you care about.

    Opening and announcements · Mayor

    Attendance is noted and any urgent business is declared before the agenda begins.

  2. 19:45

    Public speaking slot · Resident floor

    Three minutes each for people who signed up, taken in the order of registration.

  3. 20:15

    Decisions and amendments · Councillors

    Proposals are debated, amended and voted on with the result shown on the screen.

  4. 21:30

    Questions to the executive · Aldermen

    Written questions from residents receive an answer in the meeting and again in the minutes.

About speaking and voting

Can non-citizens attend?

Yes. Every meeting is open to anyone, and residents of any nationality may use the public speaking slot.

How do I find an old decision?

Search the decisions archive by street, topic or year. Every file carries the vote tally and the full text.

How can I contact my councillor?

Each councillor publishes a district email address. Write to them directly or ask the clerk to forward your message.
