Speakers

People who have changed a street and lived with the results.

We only invite speakers who have taken a design from drawing to tarmac. They bring the consultation notes, the traffic counts from the year after and the angry letters, because that is what other cities need to see before they try the same thing.

Keynotes

Presenter with a microphone on stage

Amara Visser · the street as public space

Amara led the redesign of a six-lane harbour boulevard into two traffic lanes, a tram line and a planted cycle route. She will walk through eight years of drawings, delays and the numbers from the first winter after opening.

Microphone in front of a light conference hall

Lucas Brandt · school streets, year one

Lucas measured traffic, air quality and walking rates outside forty primary schools before and after morning closures. His talk covers what changed, what did not, and why parents' worries faded faster than officials expected.

Attendees in conversation

Priya Raman · freight without double parking

Priya designs loading zones and delivery windows for a busy port city. She will show how twenty kerbside bays with booking slots cut double parking on three shopping streets by more than half.

Ten lightning slots are still open

Five minutes, one street, before-and-after photos. Practitioners from any city are welcome to apply.
