Small-group tour operator · Denver, Colorado

Walk far, travel light, sleep in real beds.

Highline Trek Co runs guided hiking trips for twelve guests at a time in Patagonia, the Dolomites and the Japanese Alps. We book the refugios, carry the group gear and keep a pace that leaves room for conversation on the trail.

2026 departures posted; most weeks sell out by March.

How we trek

Three promises on every route

We publish the daily elevation gain, the dinner menu and the guide bios before you pay a deposit.

Guide reading a map on a trail

Routes we scout yearly

Lead guides re-walk every trip in the off-season and publish changes when a bridge washes out or a hut closes.

Backpack and boots by a door

Gear you do not need to buy

Trekking poles, water filters and group first-aid kits are included; we send a packing list that fits in a forty-litre pack.

Small group resting on a trail

Groups capped at twelve

Two guides on every departure, so nobody waits twenty minutes for a photo stop or a lunch order.

    Fit call

Twenty minutes on video about pace, prior hiking and any injuries we should plan around.

  3. 03

    Deposit and paperwork

A 30% deposit holds the bed; we send insurance options and a training plan if you want one.

  4. 04

    Pre-trip briefing

A group video call two weeks out with meet-up times, bag limits and the weather forecast.

  5. 05

    On the trail

Trip questions

How fit do I need to be?

You should comfortably hike six hours with a daypack. We send a training outline after booking.

Can I come alone?

Most guests do. We room solo travellers together unless you pay a single supplement.

What if the weather turns?

Every itinerary has a built-in flex day and shorter options the guides can switch to on the morning briefing.

Are tips included?

Guide gratuities are not included; we suggest USD 120–150 for the week at the end.

Want a week that feels earned?

Tell us which departure interests you and we will send the detailed day sheet.
