Read the lineup before you paddle out.
Breakline Surf runs dawn lessons at Pleasure Point with ISA-certified coaches, soft-top boards sized to your height and a written conditions board updated at 05:30. Beginners never paddle into overhead sets — we walk the channel until you can read whitewater. Coaches carry waterproof radios to the lineup and log every session with a short video clip you can replay at the trailer.
Must swim 100 m unassisted. Ages 10+ for group lessons. Waiver signed at trailer; guardians required for guests under eighteen.

Pop-up drills on sand before we touch water — reduces shoulder tweaks. Coaches film one rep so you can compare stance before paddling out.

Every instructor carries a waterproof radio linked to the trailer desk; if conditions shift, we call groups in without shouting across the lineup.

What if the ocean is flat?
We switch to paddle technique and balance drills; you can rebook within thirty days.
Can I use my own board?
After your third lesson with us, yes — subject to coach approval.
Where do we meet?
The Breakline trailer on East Cliff Drive; look for the orange flag and board racks. Parking is street only before 08:00.
Do you teach kids?
Group lessons start at age ten; private family lessons are available for ages eight and nine with a parent in the water.
What about sharks?
We follow county guidelines, avoid murky water after rain and carry a marine radio tuned to harbor patrol. Lessons pause when lightning is within ten miles.
Reserve a dawn slot.
Meet at the Breakline trailer on East Cliff Drive 15 minutes before start. Bring a towel and arrive in swimwear — wetsuits are fitted on site.
