In-home pet sitting · Seattle, Washington

Stay in your own home, even when you are not in it.

Hearth & Hound sitters care for dogs, cats and small animals where they are happiest, on their own sofa and in their own street. We bring the walks, the dinners and the long cuddles, and keep your plants watered, your post tidy and your lights on a timer.

Meet your sitter in person before every first booking.

What a sitter does

Everything your pet would ask for

Each booking is shaped around a care sheet that you write with your sitter, covering food, medicine, quirks and the exact spot where the cat likes to sleep.

A person feeding a tiny kitten from a bottle

Feeding and cuddles on schedule

Meals at the time and portion you set, including raw or prescription diets, with clean bowls and fresh water at every visit.

A pregnant woman sitting on a bed with her dog

Overnight stays in your home

Your sitter sleeps in your guest room or on the sofa, walks the dog before bed and again at dawn, and is there when thunder rolls in.

A couple sleeping peacefully next to their dog

Quiet nights, calm mornings

Pets who sleep in your bed can keep doing so. Sitters follow the bedtime routine you describe, down to the order of the lights.

A relaxed Siamese kitten resting on a cosy blanket

Gentle kitten and senior care

Extra attention for the very young and very old, including bottle feeding, subcutaneous fluids and slow, patient walks.

Daily photos and notes

A message after each visit tells you who ate what, who played with whom and whether the bold grey cat left a gift on the stairs.

Home looked after too

Plants watered, post collected, bins out on the right day and blinds opened, so your house looks lived in and not empty.

Questions before you book

How are sitters chosen?

Fewer than one in ten applicants is accepted. Each sitter passes a background check, a reference check, pet first-aid training and a supervised trial visit.

What happens if my sitter is sick?

A backup sitter who has already read your care sheet steps in. You are told as soon as we know, and you can meet them first.

Do you look after exotic pets?

We care for small mammals, birds and reptiles with a care sheet. Please ask first about aquariums and rare species.

How do you handle emergencies?

Sitters have your vet's details, written permission to authorise treatment up to an agreed limit, and a twenty-four hour line to our office.

Go on the trip. We have got the cat.

Request a quote, meet a sitter and decide with no deposit. Most families are booked within three days.
