Interior repaints
Walls, ceilings, trim and doors, with holes patched, caulk renewed and each room sealed with plastic and drop cloths before the first coat.
Brush & Ladder Painting repaints interiors, kitchen cabinets and exteriors in Victorian Village, German Village, Clintonville and the suburbs around them. We spend the first day on prep because that is what makes paint last, and we finish with a walkthrough while the tape is still on the trim.
Low-VOC and zero-VOC paints are our default for every interior.
Columbus painting credentials
We are a small, owner-operated company with two full-time crews. We take fewer jobs and keep the same painters on them from first prep day to last touch-up.

Doors and drawers come off, get degreased, sanded and sprayed with waterborne urethane in our shop. Boxes are finished in your kitchen behind a spray tent.

Pressure washing, scraping, wood repair, spot priming and two coats in the season that suits the product. Ohio weather lets us work from late April through October.

German Village and Italian Village houses often hide lead paint under newer coats. Our certified renovators contain dust and wash down every surface.

Cracks, nail pops and water stains repaired so they stay hidden through a Columbus winter, then skim-coated and primed before color goes on.

A one-hour visit with sample boards on your walls at morning, noon and evening light. The fee is credited toward any job over $2,000.
These are typical prices including paint, labor and cleanup. The written quote lists every room and every surface.

Furniture is centered and wrapped, floors get rosin paper under drop cloths, and outlets and fixtures are masked or removed.
Surfaces are degreased, loose paint scraped, holes filled and glossy trim scuffed so primer actually bonds.
Stains, bare wood and dramatic color changes get primer. Finish coats follow after proper dry time, not a stopwatch.
You tour every room with the lead painter, we touch up what you spot, and the cleanup crew vacuums before they leave.

Walls are dry to touch in four hours and ready for furniture the same evening. Cabinets and floors need a few days to cure fully, and we explain that before we start.
Yes, and we price it by the gallon in the estimate. If you want a specific color or brand, we match it and note any price difference.
Late spring and early fall. Surfaces must be dry, overnight lows above 40 degrees and no rain in the forecast for at least a day.
Our default interior line is low or zero VOC, so most families return to the rooms that evening. We also bring fans and keep windows cracked for airflow.
Yes, and so is a walkthrough with our estimator. Color consultations cost $145, which we credit toward the job if you hire us.
“They sprayed our kitchen cabinets in five days and the finish still looks like furniture two winters later.”
“I have never seen painters so careful with a 1900s house. They told us which trim was lead-painted and how they would handle it.”
“Every room was covered and every cord was coiled on the floor. I came home to a clean house and a color I picked from the consult boards.”
