Order the coffee in Madrid, argue about it in Osaka.

Atlas Tongue Academy teaches adults in rooms of eight, three evenings a week, with native-speaking teachers who stop the grammar the moment a conversation starts. Most students arrive on a Monday placement chat and are speaking, badly and happily, by Thursday.

Conversation tables

Two adults, one table, one topic card. Pairs rotate every twelve minutes so nobody hides behind a friend who already knows the word.

Reading nights

French novels cut into ten-page chapters, read aloud and argued over. Bring a pencil; the margins are where the vocabulary lives.

Tuesday and Thursday 18:30 to 20:30 in the old print-shop room, when the radiators tick and the group finally stops checking email.

What students say after term one

“I booked Lisbon on a whim and used my Spanish on the bus there. Marisol made us order lunch in class every week until it stopped feeling like a performance.”
Dana R.Product manager, Spanish B1
“Reading Camus in ten-page bites is the first time French has felt like a place I could go rather than a subject I had to pass.”
Anil K.Civil engineer, French B2
“Hiragana in the first month sounded impossible. Sato-sensei turned it into a card game and I could read the train map by week five.”
Priya N.Nurse, Japanese A1

Before you enrol

I have never studied the language. Can I start mid-term?

Absolute beginners should join at the start of a term, because week one carries the alphabet and the survival phrases. If you miss that window we run a four-hour catch-up on the first Saturday.

How do you decide my level?

A fifteen-minute spoken chat with a teacher plus a short reading task. No grade, just a placement slip that says which room to walk into.

Is there homework?

About thirty minutes between classes, usually a voice note you record on your phone. Teachers listen to every one and answer with a note of their own.
