Tallow & Timber is a 9,000-square-foot showroom on Haywood Road with sofas set up like living rooms, a swatch library you can borrow from, and a delivery crew that carries everything upstairs. Frames are hardwood from mills within a hundred miles, and every cushion is rebuilt, not replaced, when it tires.

A showroom that works like a living room
Nobody here is on commission, so you can lie down on a daybed for twenty minutes and nobody will hover.
Two-person delivery crews
Our own crews, not a contractor, bring the piece into the room you choose, remove the packaging and set up beds and tables on the spot. Stairs, tight turns and elevators are scouted before the truck leaves.
Sketched to your measurements
Bring a floor plan or a phone video of the room and a designer will draw the pieces to scale, with doorway clearances and rug sizes marked, during a free forty-minute visit.
A swatch library you can borrow
One hundred forty linens, wools and performance weaves hang on rails by the front window. Take six home for a week; they come back in the prepaid envelope.

Delivery, care and returns
How long does a made-to-order sofa take?
Six to eight weeks from fabric approval, because each frame is built and upholstered by hand. In-stock pieces arrive in about nine days.
Can I return something that does not fit?
Within thirty days you can exchange it or take store credit, and we collect it at no charge. Custom fabrics are final once cutting begins.
Do you remove my old furniture?
For twenty-five dollars per piece our crew will haul it away on the same visit, and anything still usable goes to a local transitional-housing charity.
How do I clean the performance linen?
Blot spills, vacuum weekly, and use the free cleaning kit that comes with every sofa. Cushion covers on the Wren chair can go in a gentle wash.
