# Shopify integration

Connect your store and edit your Shopify theme with AI, from preview to published theme.

Connect a Shopify store to a business and Evonx can edit the theme the way it
edits any other project: describe the look, preview, then publish theme JSON
back to Shopify. Your catalog and checkout stay on Shopify; Evonx changes how
the storefront looks.

## Connect and publish a theme change

1. Link the shop from Evonx (the Shopify link flow). Grant the theme permissions
the screen asks for — without them Evonx cannot write the theme.

2. Describe the change in chat or an [Evolution Thread](/docs/evolve/evolution-threads):
"make the header sticky, use our cream and violet, put reviews above the fold
on product pages". Attach a screenshot or
[mockup](/docs/evolve/design-and-mockups) when the brief is visual.

3. Preview the theme the same way you preview a web app. Click through as a
   shopper would.

4. Publish to Shopify from the project's Shopify publish tab. History there
lists what went live and when; roll forward with another change if a publish
is wrong — Shopify is the live store, not an Evonx slug.

> **Warning**
> A published theme is live on your real storefront. Preview first. Do not test
> destructive copy on a peak sales hour.

This path is for **theme** work. Inventory, orders, and payments stay in Shopify
admin. For a full walkthrough see
[Redesign your Shopify theme with AI](/docs/use-cases/redesign-shopify-theme).
